Belle Isle is such a beautiful part of Detroit. Since it's been under the state, Belle Isle has truly come back to life. This one island holds so many different locations. If you are a photographer in Detroit I highly suggest getting the pass for the year. So inexpensive and worth every penny (and then some)!
I went to high school with Carly and met her fiance the day of the shoot. They were so fun to work with even though I made them get up a little early to get to Belle Isle before other people arrived. Carly loved the big wall of plants in the conservatory so we had to make sure to get some shots there. Lighting can be funny in the conservatory, but I made it work. Photographer tip: Look outside of the conservatory. So many more beautiful spots just outside of the building. This adds great variety in one single location.
I had so much fun shooting with Jon and Carly. I wish them a great wedding day and a happy life together.
